+ 1. Awful. I can't stand his dj sets now, and I can see that he came from nothing but the most stinking mediocrity to begin with. I knew he was some kind of 80's pop star, but this is my first real exposure to that material.

This doesn't belong in the gayest electronic music thread because some of those songs are really damn good. For instance, Sven Vath shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as the Pet Shop Boys.

Sven Väth was one of three people who created the electronic music scene in Frankfurt back in the day. Of the other two, one runs Cookies, which is 'that club' that you go to when all the other clubs are closed on a Wednesday morning. The other one, I think, OD'd...

Guess you had to be there ....

No clue who his family is, and don't really want to defend Väth, he's a giant asshole, just trying to set the record straight...

OK, so what,...Is it really any breaking news that 99% of all DJ's are
failed and/or wannabee, pop/rockstars ?? Sven Väth has jumped on every
trend in electronic music for as far back as I can remember,...
Trance, ambient, electro, pounding techno and of course the latest
"minimal",...Judging by his latest output from his label/sets he seems
to be back in "trance" land again,...Anyway, somehow I like the guy,
he's a superhard worker and a real charming character.

I guess none of you remember what Mr C. - owner of London's "the End" club used to get up to

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVnQB7ZDQao

(although I am a little ashamed to admit I had 2 albums - but I was young! )

Mr C. now on the other hand (well actually about 5 years ago, wouldnt' have a clue what he's up to now, but I really dug his sets at the end or on Kiss100 back in the day)

i think the shamen was a great band.
One of my favoritre tracks of all time: Move any mountain with misterC rapping.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-o15Xmaz2A

Also they made a great album: boss drum

it,s a shame that the bassist Will Sinnott drowned while the band were shooting a video.

check out the shamens stuff on : www.nemeton.com
Frontman Colin Angus is now making music under the name of
pablo sanchez
