What are your favourite Free VSTs?

I recently discovered Helix [http://www.audjoo.com/Helix.html] and was blown away.

I love the 'Crystal' synth, the 'Magic 8bit' synth, and also 'Da Hornet' when it works.

Good times.

my top 5 freebies at the moment...

Crystal2 by Greenoak - a definitive freeware synth. amazing envelopes, huge flexibility; it's a sound-designer's wet dream.
MFM by u-he - i didn't realise this earlier version of u-he's monster distorto-filtering-delay-box-thingy was now freeware, but it kicks ass (although you sacrifice the gorgeous interface & advanced features of its progeny, MFM1 and 2).
Electric-Q by Aixcoustic Audio - just an amazing quality EQ.
Ambience by Magnus - the donationware algorithmic reverb, Ambience is capable of everything from lush, dense cloudscapes to clangy metalloid space modelling.
Stardust by Arguru - amazing multiband compression / bass expansion / limiting goodness.

The three I always return to:

* W1 limiter
* Iblit
* CamelCrusher (though this one seems to tax heavily on the CPU in my current project (7.07) - I've never noticed this previously)

I have so much respect for someone who would go to the trouble of making such an awesome synth free.

You've got to try UGO's stuff.
Nothing but brilliant plugins. From Rez to Motion, it's all wicked!
