MOTU Ultralite

Post by Hildebrandenator » Fri Jul 04, 2008 3:53 am

Hello Ableton Forum. I am thinking about purchasing the MOTU Ultralite for Live. I plan on connecting a keyboard through the midi and using some of the 1/4 inch ports for my keyboard's sounds. My question is this, is there a low midi and audio latency when using the MOTU Ultralite in conjunction with Live 7?

I've found no noticeable latency, in fact, I get better performance with that thing plugged in than without it.

Easily one of the most recommend audio interfaces you're going to find.

You shouldn't be using WME for audio work anyway  That's like buying a lamborghini and only using spare tires on it.

It doesn't seem to work with Dance Ejay either.

Nah... it's a rock solid unit!

Don't say that out loud because everyone will start banging on about VISTA. But it works fine with my VISTA home basic.

Well, maybe there is hope for me anyway (vista-ish-ly speaking.)

What i don't like about it is the noise when u switch in on or off.

I love the ultralight, but agree that the power on/off "pop" sucks, also the dials on the front make tweaking outside the software interface harder than it should be. (along with the small led screen).

For the size you get a ton of input/output and it's built solid and I haven't had any of the disconnection issues or strange glitches I had with M-Audio firewire since I started using Motu.

Motu Ultralite is the best audio interface that I've ever purchased.
Works beautifully on the mac.
Havn't been able to get it to work on XP through Bootcamp though. Thats my only gripe.
