Nice. Like it. The drums are a bit pop/new wave/alternative generic, like Franz Ferdinand's 'Take Me Out' when it goes into the groove mode of the song half way through, that would be my only constructive crit.
However, it's a nice sounding mix (for Myspace quality).
Always good to hear some different stuff done in Live that mixes technology with live instruments

http://soundcloud.com/umbriel-rising http://www.myspace.com/leedsquietmandemos Live 7.0.18 SUITE, Cubase 5.5.2], Soundforge 9, Dell XPS M1530, 2.2 Ghz C2D, 4GB, Vista Ult SP2, legit plugins a plenty, Alesis IO14.
I like "love isn't what you want". I sense some Flaming lips in the drums and instrumentation. The sound quality is good. I like the retro-keyboard (?) sound towards the end. The same goes for the intro/chorus of "Can't stop the Habit". I really like the drums and compressed cymbals. How do you get that sound? Is it all Live?
Can't say I like the auto-tune voice of "another day". It's my own opinion, but I think it's an over-used effect, especially through a whole song.
Good stuff.

Thanks for listening josh! Actually most of the other tracks on my page were done with logic. I love live for it's work flow and ease of writing with it. But logic sounds better in my opinion. The plug ins are a bit more intuitive,It just takes some digging in order to learn how to use everything effectively. The compressor in logic is very use full for getting that phat sound. Also the limiter is really great if used tastefully. Thanks again for checkin my stuff out!JoshR wrote:I like "love isn't what you want". I sense some Flaming lips in the drums and instrumentation.
