Enviromental Effects

Post by Breaka » Sat Dec 16, 2006 12:09 am

Just watching Robert Henke's video where he makes a grain delay matrix in Live to create the sound of a thunder storm.

Does anyone else know of any cool grainular techniques to make enviromental sound like this?

just use your imagination and experiment

i used the Live Vinyl FX as a random sound generator to sculpt an ambient environment that includes both drones and transients... hands-free. as soon as the set opens, it's rolling

you might also find TAPESTREA software interesting. it's a program for deconstructing and restructuring ambient recordings

good luck and have fun

Wind effects can be made with white noise and gently moving amplitude and low pass filter modulation.

For convenience, here is Tapestrea: http://taps.cs.princeton.edu
(I am just testing it now and wanted to check here in the forums if it was discussed already here, only this message was found by the search engine, seems not to be so popular here, so far.)
