Need a free VST tuner that actually works in live...

Post by kaffein » Fri Aug 01, 2008 3:26 am

Tried C_tuner and it didn't work, also wouldn't let me delete it with full permissions so I nuked it with HJT. K-Tuner didn't work. Some other one I tried that I don't remember the name as well.

So there must be at least 1 known VST tuner that works in Ableton...
Will continue looking here until a find one, but hey if you already know of one that works shoot that my direction!

Thanks guys, it works great!
Although it does not register a low A on a bass, it goes down to low B which is fine cause. :)

Would have taken me forever to find that one, as I was just trying every one I could see.

I'd recommend getting the entire (and free!) GVST plugin bundle actually:

http://www.gvst.co.uk/

I stumbled across it when someone recommended GClip to me - there's a whole feast of useful plugins in there which really do sound very good, especially for the price.

While I'm here, also check out the (also free!) MDA VST suite:

http://mda.smartelectronix.com/

There's lots of useful + unique plugins in there.

Is there a free VST or AU chromatic tuner that actually works in Ableton Live ?

I'm trying to tune a bass, a guitar, and a saxophone. Yes I have ears but I want to use this to assist some students.
