Converting Emulator Patches/Samples into Sampler

Post by esky » Tue Aug 05, 2008 7:19 am

Good morning from Berlin,

Sampler does converting of Akai patches and samples in a reliable way. But i have tons of samples for my old Emulator e6400 as well. How can i make them useable for sampler eg. get them converted by Live...? Any ideas? Maybe there is a small freeware program (Windows) or something like that...?
Thanks, Esky

Have you really tried google? I found a converter back in the days when I needed one. it wasn't free, but IIRC Emulator CDs were supported.

This is what I just found with google:

http://www.cdxtract.com/home.php

Took about 5 seconds.

I always try to get a solution myself before i'm staring to ask stupid questions to the community. I discoverd Cdxtract too but it seems to be a little dated and therefore doesn't support Sampler directly. All i could do is convert the Emus into Akai Disks and then transfer it to Sampler, is that right? Or into Exs format. I thought there might be a direct way to convert my Emu library... :? Well...bummer...

Didn't mean to attack you, was just wondering. You cannot directly convert to sampler, but you can convert to Akai, then to sampler. Not an elegant way, but at least one way....

I didn't find more on the first try, maybe someone else knows more....

Don't worry, didn't understand it as an attack. Yeah, first Akai, then Sampler...more bummer...

Chicken Systems Translator is another option, while it won't export directly to Sampler either there are cut down versions that export to just one format (EXS maybe) at $80 each.

Might be worth contacting them to see if they've got any plans to add Sampler support in the future.

Thank you guys, now that's what i call feedback...! Ok, i downloaded the demo of extranslator and in contrast to chicken systems translator i could easlily get results. Unfortunatly there where clicks and spikes on the translated samples, i have to check that again. As there is no direct support for sampler, which format do you guys choose for transfering...?
Thanks again, Esky

The author of ESC plans a new version to add support for the Sampler.
