Firewire 410 MIDI ports broken?

Post by hacktheplanet » Tue Oct 19, 2004 9:20 pm

I've had an M-Audio Firewire 410 for a little over three weeks, and the MIDI connecters just stopped working one day. I'm using a 12" iBook G4, and Live 4. I can't get MIDI to work with GarageBand or anything else either. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I'm probably going to return the interface and buy a different brand if there isn't a solution.

Dont send your 410 back, ITS A DRIVER ISSUE. Just download the correct driver for your operatering system from M-AUDIOs website.
GOOD LUCK!!!

I downloaded the new drivers, reinstalled the hardware, reinstalled my OS (!!!), and it never worked. M-Audio advised me to exchange the unit. I upgraded to an 1814 after dealing with audiomidi.com's helpful customer service department. The 1814 has worked without a hitch.

Much love to audiomidi.com. They have extracted approximately $900 from my bank account, and deserve every cent. :) Great customer service, fast shipping, and cheap discounts.
