Hello fellow music makers. I have finally completed a new track called Aurora. The premise of the track is to sound slightly unearthy as it was inpsired by the Aurora Borealis I saw as a kid on a family trip to Michigan (Upper Peninsula that is.)
A few things are missing still. I need to put together a drum rack (maybe) with some big boomy sounds and create some synth effects to build into the progression. Anyway, I don't know if I truly like this song as much as String Theory but if the tune gets stuck in my head later today, then I know it's a good one.
Well here it is. It's almost done but I need input. What were your first impressions? What do you like/not like about this song? What do you think could change to make it better?

P.S. There is a teaser to the next song at the end

Good job. I like it :-]
At times, I think it could be a little less on the playing, as I think at points it actually needs less, as opposed to more. But maybe thats just the mood I'm in. I really like the end as well with the piano playing, could listen to that all day... yeh, struck a chord with me :]

Thanks David!
I have taken your suggestion and slightly changed the song in the first portion and gotten rid of the incessant repeated note during the chorus. I thought that the Chorus was somewhat lacking however, so I added another piano that plays higher notes. Also, I added an Alto flute that mirrors the Concert Flute during the chorus.
Other then that, I changed the transitions around very slightly between repeated phrases so as to avoid obvious repetition. I still think the repeated phrases need some form of continuity but as of now, I don't know how this would work out. Anyway, the new version is up.
[EDIT] David, which piano part did you like? Where all the instruments are playing at the end or the piano solo at the very, very end?

yes I prefer your new version, was good you stripped out the excess piano repeats :] i liked the piano solo at the very very end, think it only lasted 10 secs or so but it was nice, i like listening to entire pieces like that, quite simple and deep, lasting in length 1 hour or even more. a definite improvement. keep up the good work!
