rec dry vocal with wet headphones?

Post by infiniteB » Tue Sep 16, 2008 2:08 pm

What's the best way in Ableton (routing, etc) to record a dry vocal to track "A", but have the wet (one or more effects) version of the vocal go to the headphone of the singer, and also have this wet version recorded to another track "B"

Audio Track 1 - Mic track, with fx on.
Audio Track 2 - Select the mic track in the 'audio from' box. set lower box to 'post fx'.

set global quantize to 1 bar, record-arm both tracks, and press record in both slots.
when done recording, switch off the fx on the mic track and listen back. you'll have a wet and a dry take.
