u damn right it is!!! now I cant use my hardware synths..tweaking them to get the right sound is the most irritating experience ive ever had with any DAW..DAMNATION!!

I'm experiencing the same thing with 'normal' buffer sizes...
in fact... I now sync manually... 1,2,3,4... press button..

3dot is right..it doesnt matter what buffer size..heres a "better" buffer size ie 2048/2 is 1024 right!

I've actually came to accept this as a limitation in live.... that can't be healed by ableton...

accepting is half of the way...to somewhere...

yeah well I seriously cant...this fuk up means i cant record my hardware synths properly nor use them in a Live situation..and sure im using soft synths and they work just fine..but its just not the same thing..either way Live is supposed to be able to do this shit.. in fact thats what Live is all about innit?! WAT a BItCH!

i have made the experience that I CANNOT sync ableton live to my EMX via a 2x2 m-audio usb interface. just doesn't work. didn't ever, since version 2 or 3 - the sequencer definitely begins to drift somewhen.

I CAN sync my EMX via the same interface to live properly, whereas an emagic A62 with midi enabled isn't doing ANYTHING stable, neither using live as a master or slave.

do you have the possibility to check your setup again, with an m-audio 1x1, 2x2 or 4x4 interface and post the results?

a really crazy thing, because I WOULD LOVE to be able to run ableton live as a SLAVE during my livesets (starting the loop / restarting with the EMX controls is sooo cool

oh, and I don't think the latency compensation is a good idea to be used live, if you have a singer or instrumentalist with you
