I use Live for dj and live remix sets as well as a studio tool and I am pretty happy with the results I get from the complex warp mode, but if there is a more advanced algorithm available I think it should definitely be included in Live. Anything and everything should be tried to improve sound quality particularly when it comes to warping as it is one of the main features that makes Live so unique. If the other major DAWs have a more advanced mode, then Ableton should as well because audio stretching and warping is what Live was originally created for and what attracts a lot of people, myself included, to the software in the first place.

A massive +1 from me.

I think since one of Live's big selling points is elastic audio, I think Ableton should make a point to license as many algorithms within reason and give us as many options as possible. I've been trying to hype Live to live bands who want to use it to cue sounds live, but they're avoiding warping and stretching altogether because they don't like the quality of the stretched audio. Having the latest algorithms would keep Live at the top of what it does best. Come on, Abe, don't get beat out by Fruity Loops!

Also, what are people's opinions on Izotope's algorithms? I've been using Pro Tools' time stretching algos (which are Izotope) and have been getting some good results. What do y'all think? Should Abe also try and get some of Izotope's stuff as well Zplane's?

PS... +1! ha ha

Actually on another forum, someone wrote

-----------
I find the Dirac LE method is far better than all of the Elastique stuff.
I would say, the Dirac system is the best I have ever heard and that includes Melodyne.
