He also has some kind of phrase sampler, like an SP-404 or something that he triggers some pre-cooked loops on.adventurepants_ wrote:theres got to be more to it than that, there are several long loops going on simultaneously, unless its just crafted really well and it just seems like it. great musicianship though.
The live looping pedal covers the sax, drums, percussion, bass etc...

There's loads of Dosh stuff floating around - i don't like his new record, his earlier stuff is far better particularly Pure Trash

the live set up...
Category: Music
a lot of folks ask about the live set up, so here it is.... a diagram might be helpful, but i don't have one yet.....
the gear that i use in my live show is thus:
fender rhodes 54
roland juno 106
dr sample 303
3mics (beta 52 for the bass drum, sennheiser 602 for
the snare and a e/v 303 for my "floater mic", which
i move around to capture different
sounds, hi hat, cymbals, glockenspiel, dropping metal
objects, etc.)
then....
all of this stuff is run into a mackie 1402 mixer and sent out of the main outs MONO, at which point it passes through these effects:
boss DD5 delay
dunlop roto-vibe
big muff
akai e1 headrush
then it goes into the main loop pedal:
akai e2 headrush
and the signal gets split into pre-loop and post loop, and the post loop is routed through another boss dd5, which is then routed back into the mackie, via the alternate 3/4 send, and then to 2 DI boxes which is all the sound person gets to mix my set.
thats it.

i'm also looking for a looping device, i have seen three candidates:
boss rc20
boss rc50
and akai e2 headrush (like see the light)
does anybody have more information about those units?
what is the difference?
thanks!
[edit] got some more info, the rc20 doesn't have midi, so i assume i won't be able to to sync it to ableton, right?
