Maybe they'll give us some new tools for managing and monitoring huge live performance sets.

Some things i have always wanted in Live.

1. To be able to change colour of inividual midi notes so that they are not always red.

2. If we are using external hardware and using the midi cc to change example the filter cut off etc, i get pissed of reading the manual to find what cc number the cut off is..and then finding the corresponding midi number in ableton...if we could rename and save the number (like instead of 32, we could rename it to cut off) If im changing more that 2 parameters i forget and keep having to check..

3. A stereo widening tool like Waves S1 Imager. (or maybe im missing something and we can do this already?)

That would be cool :D

+1 and any updates to the samplers.

I hope to see a feature in the new Live 8 that allows you to see actual midi data, such as an event editor. BUT, more importantly, there needs to be an "auto-slice" feature when a preset change is recorded while using arrangement view. This will help keep the correct presets selected when MIDI data is recorded. Sometimes, I just like to hit record on MIDI with out a click track, and record random playing on the keyboard while changing presets. And Since Ableton doesn't insert preset changes into the MIDI data, it only sets the clip to a preset, you would have to have a slice in your MIDI data to switch to a different preset after the recording.

Does anyone feel me on this, or at least understand what i'm saying?

Blows my mind that the most basic work of a "sequencer" is to , wow! automatically control preset changes. Communique #1 for midi talk should be "what patch would you like me to play for you, Sir?" Internally AND externally.

#1

Butl Live doesn't yet do this like a smart robot should.
