Quitting my inofficial job as Ableton's Vista support guy?

Post by Crash » Tue Nov 18, 2008 7:14 pm

On the thread "CPU overload when using "instruments"" I just saw this post by JOK (Ableton official):
jok wrote:Please make sure that your Vista computer is running in Aero graphic mode.
8O This is the first time that Ableton support publically suggest to turn on Aero in order to workaround CPU problems on Vista! 8O

Does that mean that Ableton finally has taken responsibility for providing support on Vista? After all these months I may finally quit the job as Ableton's inofficial and unpaid Vista support guy. This is making me cry out of happiness and joy.

Not unless you drive me off, I guess. There are still many people asking for support and Ableton did not tell anyone publically yet how turning on Aero can mess with low-latency performance because of missing MMCSS support in Live. :P

complaining that Vista crashes Live is like complaining that ice cream gave you a headache.

XP FTW. mine's been running great for 3.5 years, no OS rebuild, minimal virus detection, full web exposure and it stays on for days, with Live open.
