Yeah, been talked about lately, but still I think it does the music community good to be aware of this.
I personally see no fault of deadmau5 in this... I don't know the guy or his music, but simply an outside perspective, that left me thinking that I probably would do that same thing if in his shoes.
Mostly I think this is embarrassing for FL... Do they recover from this? I know if I were a new user looking to buy software, I would not buy from FL, knowing this controversy was even allowed as a possibility. I guess mistakes happen, but damn, this one is ugly.

Is this dear God make this thread stop, or Dear God make FL Studio stop.
In an ideal world, both instances could occur simultaneously

Yeah, I know FL and FX aren't the same, but I'm pretty sure there's a loop or two in that pack...elxicano wrote:last man on earth wrote:Bummer...I use GURU and have downloaded deadmau5 sample pack from the FXPansion site - should I be calling a lawyer?
what a bunch of horseshit
I don't think FXPansion is the same as FL.
FL really fucked these guys with a careless error.

just screw Deadmau5 and his idiotic loops.
There are gazillions of royalty free loops out there. Many are free such as the freesound project, others such as sonomic.com charge a small fee like 99 cents for good quality loops.
Deadmau5 can suck up some warfarin and rot as far as I'm concerned and his music sucks mouse poo a$$.

Somebody please explain why deadmau5 is at fault in this?
Again, if one my tunes, which I was profiting from, turned up slightly redone with the exact samples of my song and then being passed off as an original, you can bet your ass I'm going to sue.
The way I see it, deadmau5 is just as much a victim in this, since its his stuff being presented by FL as Royalty Free, WITHOUT his permission.
Furthermore, he is getting his reputation slammed for it, which may or may not help in the long run.... I say this, because I had no idea who he was before this happened.
Lastly... I hate to start up a whole new topic, but what the hell... GET OFF THE LOOPS and be an original!.

+1 for get off the loops and be original
Deadmau5 still sucks rat turds though IMHO. We also had a situation where his manager didn't want other DJs using Live recently if they were on the same set/bill.
And he wears a ridiculous deformed mickey mouse outfit. FAIL on bad music, bad management and bad taste in gimmicks.

You do know that even on sites, such as the freesound project, you have to very careful, right? Unfortunately, you are legally responsible for the content you pass off as your own, even if you were unaware that it may have been copyrighted.
