Notebook Stands

Post by CHARLIE! » Tue Dec 02, 2008 3:51 am

Looking to buy a stand to lift my notebook off the desk. SOmething to keep it cooler and to allow me to have it angled up a bit.

I found this product: http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=pa241u

anyone have experience with this stand or others, sharing is caring.

Cheers

I have the Griffin stand - Love it - Looks the part, perfect height off the desk and comes apart easily to transport around.

How is this stand stability wise and durability?

Last thing I want is my laptop to come crashing down.

Wow that looks impressive. Do you use it? How loud are the fans? do you get any interference with audio because of the noise(not sure why you might but I am concerned with that).

Still waiting for mine to arrive. I expect the fans to be less loud than the tiney fan of the Macbook once CPU load get heavy. There is a knob on the side of the Zalman that allows you to adjust fanspeed. I will report back once I get mine.

I need to buy one for a gig next friday :D

Let me know ASAP so I can get an order out in time. It actually looks pretty perfect. USB power is awesome and looks more substantial than just putting a notebook on a stand... my little baby gets hot something awful.

wood+ holes drilled+ stapled /nailed/screwed together +sanding down + varnish + bit of time =nice stand

even could add some aluminium sheet for that cool look folks seem to be after .

never understood why people buy stands for XXX $£$ when its well cheap to make one that will prolly be nicer overall, guess some have too much moneys ?
