TouchOSC iPhone Multifaders - Does anyone actually use these
TouchOSC iPhone Multifaders - Does anyone actually use these
I just started using TouchOSC for iPhone and I'm really loving it. It's just like a portable Lemur that costs $4! Can't beat it.
I'm finding a lot of good uses for all the included template layouts. The one thing I can't find a use for is the multifaders - like when there's a bank of around 30 little faders, looks kinda like a 30band EQ. The faders are too small to touch each one individually, and there's too many to make it useful to assign to track volumes or something similar (how would I tell which fader is assigned to track 15 without a label, count them?). I'm just wondering if anyone has found any specific uses for these?
Thanks

Hi guys (hi Charlie !). The best is to use OSCulator (on the Mac) which converts OSC to midi so Live can understand, through your wifi network. A simple Mac to iPhone wifi network is enough.
What I like the most : works in both directions (in & out) so your iPhone is even receiving osc from OSCulator/Live, it means when you move a slider with your mouse it moves on your touch-screen !
Great little app, I'll soon try it on stage… and let you know.

Just got TouchOSC. Pretty sweet though programming it is harder than Itouchmidi. The one thing that bugged me is that the osculator software required required a $19 minimum donation otherwise you'll be hounded with pop ups that cut off the program. TouchOSC has a cool tabbedinterface so you can switch between say the mixer and the xy pad by switching tabs.

Osculator is worth every penny i think. Especially if you're using Wiimotes, iphones or and any other OSC stuff.
I'm using the mix 16 layout in TouchOSC to act as global effects controls, and the faders for 2 sets of sends across my 8 channels, in conjunction with my monome for clip launching, and a UC33e just for faders, and EQ.

Nice ! OSCulator is really essential, you're right. But I'm talking about the multifaders that look like a parametric EQ…nobbystylus wrote:Osculator is worth every penny i think. Especially if you're using Wiimotes, iphones or and any other OSC stuff.

Very nice use of the TouchOSC's Beatmachine preset (including multitoggles and multifaders) with Live and Audio Damage's BigSeq.
Happy 2009 !
