that was a joke right :?:
No I was serious. Why not God for inspiration, if you're a church goer? Maybe my advice a bit weird since I do not pray before I use Live or make any kind of art. But, I use to play the drums in a church band, and they prayed before every rehearsal.
Most congregations are lead in their worship, meaning that they cycle through a range of familiar songs on a weekly basis. New songs are usually introduced selectively and slowly so as to not upset the balance. Familiarity makes it easier to loosen up a bit, as oppose to concentrating on the unfamiliar.

Inspiration and preparation are two different things.

Freestylin types of worship are around, but those groups of people are still trained to expect it, and work within the familiar. It still requires structure and leadership.

Last time I did a set at the mosque, I had all the Muslims on the floor. We killed!

(seriously, afterwards, we hit an infidel establishment with C4...we literally killed!)

Most non motorcycle riders (for instance) don't find it necessary to hop on every motorcycle thread and talk about how they don't like motorcycles. However: for some reason, on the internet, people can't resist letting others (who didn't ask) know just how much they dislike Christianity.

The Christians on this thread aren't hurting anyone or trying to convert anyone. They're not criticizing non-religious people or non-Christian people. They're not part of some active global conspiracy to oppress non-Christians.

I really do wonder why it's so important for people to specifically criticize Christians when they acknowledge their faith, on the internet.

(Typically the kinds of justifications I see cherry-pick extreme examples: something like The Crusades, or some sloppy universal implication involving W, or those "God Hates Fags" lunatics. These people are none of the above; in fact the majority of very religious people are friendly and kind -- most outward religious activity is, in reality, no-strings-attached charity.)

This is one of the few bigotries that is acceptable on the internet. I think if most of you "bullies" actually met some of these people in person, and with an open mind, you'd be pleasantly surprised.

There is no criticism on this thread. Some simple jokes etc, one puzzled person who doesn't get it, don't see what the problem is.

Which is why I immediately posted after my silly post to say I wuz kiddin'
I think Gospel music kicks ass - so does spirituality and trying to be kind to others and help them, I keep hearing Fatboy Slim's "praise" in my head that track defintely has a Gospelly groove.

Personally I think in this thread only, the comments so far have been merely soft satire, and that is a right. And in general, I think that one major reason Christianity is the subject of those debates is that most European and North American people have a direct experience with the religion, whether they believe or not. The OP might not be the direct cause, but his fate has inflicted many a trauma to many persons.

Thank God for that! Oh wait, no, thank nothing at all for that, just only our ability to construct Morals from within, not from above or from a very very old book with a dodgy history. Yes, it might offend, but just as much as Christianity has personally and generally offended.

So far, in this thread I've merely stated that I am not a Christian and that I value the ideas of Darwin and Tipler, as well as stated that it's a moral right to say stuff that might be offending to some people.

Oh man this thread has so much potential. Maybe the Abes can shut off the pornbot killer for 24 hours.

I'm no expert on worship music, but one night some years back in a drunkin' stuper I admitted to a friend that I really liked the music on the short infomercial for a worship music double CD they ran constantly late at night. I didn't get very far into my confession before her eyes lit up and I knew we had the same guilty pleasure. Soon after we spent many a night after clubbing flipping through TV channels in search of that commercial so we could dance around and sing along. The Christmas after she bought me the CDs and it was the best present EVER. It should be mentioned she is an atheist and I'm a recovering Catholic, 15+ years of questioning.

But here we are well over 5 years later and they have a new CD and new infomercial but it's the same damn songs by the same artists. They really need some new material and maybe it will happen with our new member here using Live.

Ok, Machinesworking & knotkranky Im not admit what I believe. There is no proof to, or against any God in the universe so I admit this point is moot. But I want to know, being logical individuals as you two are, why is it ok to make fun of religious person that trys to get ableton live help for church music? Why a God person believer is considered a stupid joke on here? This makes the PLO Hamas Israeli thread even more confusing to me.
