Fun Fun Friday for real - Sampling Fun Fun

Post by nebulae » Fri Jan 09, 2009 2:35 am

Sorry if this has already made it here virally, but I figured since this was a sampling masterpiece, it would be cool to discuss.

Wow. That's Shit Hot!

Very hypnotic, nicely done.

I particularly like the debate on videogum about what the "lyrics" are

"Very sel(dom) follow it
A lot of trouble"

"There is a long way to love that I must travel,
There is a long way to love but you are trouble."

"Where is hell? Follow it to the long bit of the, of the trouble."

"very seldom follow it to love but you are trouble"

"'There is it always a lot, but i, have a problem"

"WHAT IS SHE SAYING THOUGH?! REALLY?!"

LOL!

I really don't know myself, I thought it had been reversed personally...

Any advances??

yeah, it's funny, that video is doing the rounds again. Great work, but it only *Really* shines because of the source material and the video, imho.

We should all be doing this in Ableton Live though - silly easy.

I... can't stop listening to it. My god. Chopped up female vocals just slay me, especially with such a nice tone as this one has.

Amazing.

Edit: I think she really isn't saying anything, but it's just a chopped up saying of "Alice in Wonderland." I could be totally wrong, though...

That kind of stuff makes me think that sampling should be legal. So that some dude somewhere in the world can make sampledelic stuff like that, and publish it without being in danger of getting sued by the lawyers of multinational corporate companies.
