Yeah its tricky. You have to figure out which patch/bank in live corresponds to which bank in the modular and sometimes it doesn't even change for some reason.

I usually do it manually with the dial when im just messing around making noises and tracks...

Anyone else using a nord mod with live? Ben?

The envelopes are perfect for control of the nord mod.(or any midi box)

Like an MPC2000XL on steroids...

there is a bit of roid-rage though...

i havnt been able to record or edit the recieved midi ctrl messages to be recieved and positioned at the begining of the midi clip.

I cant edit them in groups and by themselves there are too many to do individually... and it is tricky n time consuming

Using quarter note record quantize did not appear to work and they were still off...

My old MPC200xl had a perfect step edit recording function.

Logic has its step editor...
...but also a simple pause at the
start of the recording of the midi clip/file and all midi-ctrl data sent is recorded on the first step...

I havnt found a pause on live for this...
it appears as recording is only active when playing not armed in the main transport...

Any suggestions to help tackle live and the modular would be appreciated
Cheers

CORRECTION
"it appears as though recording is only active when playing and not active whilst on standby record mode ... (selected record but not play)"

Pause in LIVE ?

still not able to Pause LIVE to record data accurately...
Gotta use Logic Audio for that then transfer the midi clips...

I have a Nord L2 and the program changes work well. One thing that I did to make the changes that I want was write all of my own patches to the first patch numbers so if I choose 1 or 2 or 3 etc it will be the patch that I wanted. It's a pain on the front end but it gave me the control that I needed. Still haven't totally figured out performances though.

another work around is to just write the patch numbers/names into your clips. so the clip name shows which patch to use.

its not ideal but works well in certain situations. its not that hard to dial in the patch from the front panel :)
