OSC : for God' sake !

Post by lezef » Tue Nov 18, 2008 12:07 am

Hi,

It seems that OSC (Open Sound Control ?) is going to be the next fine level to control DAWs and controler. Even better than MIDI.
So why not implementing this on the next update, as Live 7.1 for example ?
Ah ! And also a decent delay (like Tape delay) and surround interfaces/modules ? What happen to the promising collaboration between Ableton & Cyclin'74 ? A native reading of patches in Live from Max/msp's patches ??
Cheers.

+1 on OSC... TouchOSC on the iPhone, OSCulator on Mac... OSC would be sweet...

OSC on Lemur, OSC with monome etc.

btw, with LiveAPI, you can use OSC as a protocol to control and get feedback from Live :)

This would be great as a way for finer grained synching between computers running Live in a performance situation.

this is definitely a must!
i experimented with TouchOSC on my iPhone and had to transform the incoming messages to MIDI via OSCulator... Ableton Live should be talking OSC too ;)

+1. Max is the only thing I have that supports it, I wonder why no one will get behind it?
