Is Ableton trying to conquer the world of music???

Post by McQ714 » Thu Jan 15, 2009 6:33 pm

I think they are on the right track. They have now developed partnerships with Cycling, Serato, and Akai. This alliance could now be considered the greatest force in creative live performance... whether it be DJing, music-making, or another live performance aspect (lighting, efx, etc.). So... who's next?

Ableton should buy Pro Tools, then they'd really take over.

All of this still makes live next to useless with the 128 parameter limit. Ooh wow I can create crazy max patches to control parameters, ooh wait I still cant do it cause the filter cutoff is # 140.

there is no 128 parameter limit anymore.

don't fret the cycling 74 stuff, all you'll have to do is download goodies people make and run them.

I think they have conquered the world. I want Max, APC 40, and Live 8 Suite.

I'll sell my left nut if I have to just to get it all!!!!!!

I´m really glad they went in the integrated hardware/software live
performance/DJ-ing direction with Live 8 instead of trying to assault ProTools position in the traditional recording market.

Everything that Ableton has done with this upgrade, from the program itself to Max for Live to the controller has been about empowering us, the users to take the program in whatever direction WE want. And the Share service ties it all together.

This is how you blaze trails. I think Ableton has done something really special here, not just in the world of audio but a powerful object lessons in how 21st century corporations should behave. Instead of giving us what we want, or what they THINK we want, they give us the tools to create what we want...

Give a man a fish and all that...
