Best Live version / update ever.

Post by Liam » Thu Jan 15, 2009 8:28 pm

Just watched the videos (both on the Ableton site and the Cycling74 site) and I'm very impressed with the new Live8 Share among other things. Not to mention MaxforLive.

This will take Live to a whole new level worldwide.

Endless possibilities it seems.

Yes it is...never was that exited for a update...but this..damn.
I just love this company.
They blend with us on a forum, and take our requests serious + more.

What other company does this??
In the 20 years of music making...i can't name one!

It does look they they really did it all.

There is just one thing I'm wondering about. While operator certainly got some great additions, I think sampler had quite a few requests. I'm wondering if sampler got any modifications...

They definately hit this one out of the ballpark.

All the people who felt Ableton were taking Live out of the whole live composition/on the fly manipulation and wanted it to just become another DAW are probably feeling a bit red in the face right now. The APC40, step sequencer and Looper have now made sure that Ableton is untouchable for a whole new level of hybrid DJing and original live material.

Ya but the whole <record, drag and drop in sampler> thing is the bee's knees. It makes Live the ultimate sampler. Record something, drag it into sampler. Couldn't be easier. Sampler just needs certain things like timestretch/granular mode.
