[amo] Grouped Tracks NOT automatically routing to group

Post by abletoff » Fri Jan 23, 2009 12:27 am

When tracks are placed into a group, their Audio To routing choosers are NOT automatically assigned to Group.

hmm, I'm talkin' session too.

must be a process issue. Care to break it down into a bullet point.

mine's simple
  • select some tracks in session
  • press ctrl & G
  • er, done

Hi Angstrom, try doing it by selecting group tracks from the context menu (right mouse button) after selecting some tracks.

exactly the same result
they group, and the output of all the grouped tracks are set to the "group"

Seems to be narrowing: it only does this with a Live 7 set. On original sets it works fine. The Live 7 set was my first choice set for the beta

EDIT: it seems to be doing it with one particular Live 7 set. So I'm figuring it's a process issue as Angstrom said

are you saying it's retaining the original routing of your tracks from the Live 7 set? I think that may actually be a good idea; I'd certainly want to have the option TO KEEP THE OLD ROUTING when I go through a large older set and group tracks logically (e.g. by song).

Hi,

Here is how it works: upon grouping, tracks route to the group by default, unless they were already routing to anything else but the Master track. So, you can use group tracks both as submixes, folder tracks, or both at once.

Hope that helps. abletoff, does it explain what you're seeing? Anything else could be a bug.

Hi Amaury,
Yes it helps. The tracks were routed to sends only. I checked the manual on Group Tracks but didn't seem to find this info.
So it's not a bug, it's a lesson for me to not test the beta after a day's work :)

Hi,

Let me lock this thread then for clarity, now that it's all clear. We'll try keeping only open bug threads here. Welcome to the Live 8 beta discussion forum for.. discussing.
