Confirmed.
And when you "save a copy", your file will be named "track1.als copy" while it should be "track1 Copy.als".

It doesn't create a "track 1.als copy" it simply overwrites the existing file without a warning. This is on a Mac (Tiger 10.4.11)_

There are 3 save commands. Are you telling me they all behave the same for you?

No need. I got a different bug it seems.
Conclusion, the save commands are buggy.

The usage of the als file extension for the suggested name in the Export to audio dialog should be fixed with 8.0b13.
