[4560] Track has no transients/warping after analysis

Post by jonny72 » Fri Jan 23, 2009 11:56 am

Load a track for the first time and Live performs the analysis, sometimes when it has finished there are no transients or warp markers on the track. Delete the asd and the cache copy, load it again and it works ok.

This is currently happening at random and not very often. I've spent some time trying to figure out a pattern or a way of reproducing it but I can't, will spend some more time on it though as there has to be something.

I'm wondering if its something related to Live 7 as I'm pretty certain all the tracks its happened with so far already had an asd from Live 7.

Hi,

does this happen for mp3 files only or also for uncompressed sample files like .wav or .aif ?

Best, Friedemann

Its happening with Apple Lossless files, I can't comment on other codecs as my entire library is Apple Lossless.

I've just had it happen with a WAV file, though after deleting the .asd it identified the transients ok the next time I loaded it. But I do have some evidence this time, images of the waveform with and without transients:

Still happening in b4, just had a song analysed and no transients picked up.

Is there anything I can supply to help track the problem down?

In my case, tracks that had transients in b3 suddenly had none in b4... and the "reset transients" option in the right-click menu was greyed out

This is still happening in b9, I just created a bug snap shot and emailed it in.

Have you been able to reproduce this? Have you confirmed the bug?

I know you guys are busy but its been 3 weeks without a response so I just wanted to make sure this hasn't fallen through the cracks.

Hi,

We can't answer every bug report, sorry about that. When you can see a tag looking like this: [0000], it means we assigned an internal bug number, so it's filed.

This one is hard to catch, let's hope your snapshot will help. Thanks a lot.

Sorry, I didn't mean that to sound like a moan.

Its weird as it keeps happening seemingly at random, I can't find any pattern to it whatsoever. If you need copies of the songs, original or cache or asd or anything, let me know.

This has just happened to me.
No transients after analysis.
Dragged the same mp3 into another track and I got transients!

Emailing the snapshot

Hello,

Do you still experience problems with beta 19? It is possible that some files analyzed in earlier betas have problems, and we can't do much about that. But if you observe problems with new files, from beta 19 onwards, please let us know.
