LIVE computer music night in London 4th March (update)

Post by Hiddenawaymusic » Sun Nov 30, 2008 8:39 pm

Hello all,
I'm looking for those of you who perform electronic music live. I've been running a successful music night in Wimbledon, South London for a year now and have just opened a new night in Central London downstairs in a pub opposite Victoria train station.
I'm looking to expand on the styles there as its mainly acoustic/singer songwriter music at present, which is wonderful most of the time and not at all down-beat.
However, I have been dabbling in some of my own electronic music, using a laptop, sampler, kaos pad, guitar (eventually) so I'd like to find so like-minded people to start a regular night dedicated to 'computer music'. Could be quite cool couldnt it?

Send me a message if youre interested, plus I'd like to know if there are other groups here or elsewhere I should be checking out to find performers.

My current night can be found here:

Gimme some time to put a set together, and I'd love to come out for a gig, possibly in the late spring or closer to summer.

I'd be interested. I produce on my computer, but use CDJ's to play live. Would that interest you? Really looking to get some gigs in London, so please let me know if this is something that would work for you.

I play Tech House and Minimal Techno. Been a DJ for 12 years, but focusing on production, so I haven't really been playing out much. I'd like to change that!

Hope to hear from you..

Hi,

I've been working with some other guys in London on launching a "controllerism" night. We've lost a bit of momentum lately, for various reasons, but plan to pick it up again next year. Maybe we can combine our efforts, or just support each other's nights...

Great, I'm glad some replies have come forth.
Etain and Nebulae, would be great to have you come and play. I really like the sounds. I'll add you to my mypace.
I'm so new to all this, but what I think I generally/ideally want is the more experimental/soundscape/pcyhcedelic end of things. Not that I'll stick to that rigidly, I think DJ Etains music would work really well. I dont want it to turn in to a club night as such. I'd like to get people excited about the prospect of manipulating electronic music live in an innovative way. I think it could work just as well as an acoustic night with about 4 or 5 acts a week with a 25/25 minute slot each.
I'd love to get a night sorted for the new year. Since my nights are weekly, I'd like to try to have one night of the month dedicated to electronic music.

I can also be contacted at this address: hiddenawaymusic@googlemail.com

I'm quite excited about this. I have to get my skills up to scratch.

Sounds great. I'll pm you and we can sort something out. It will be good to meet other people who produce in Live as well.

Let's make it happen!

I'd be up doing a gig, I'm into electro/breaks/trance/punk, and do a lot of remixing on the fly.

This is prodigy remix performed using Live and my Lemur.

To be honest, I'd love to check out Neb live!

Hello again,
I'm trying my best to get this night rolling this coming wednesday the 28th.
However, I've only managed to confirm half the acts. So, is anyone else out there ready to go live??
Please read back to the start of the thread for more details, I really want to make this work.

Get back to me as soon as you can if youre interested, and write to me at hiddenawaymusic@googlemail.com

Thanks again,

David
