[amo] group expansion/hiding limitations

Post by ilia » Sat Jan 24, 2009 9:00 pm

not sure if this is a bug or a design oversight, but -- if you select multiple groups, you can no longer expand/fold them with "+" or "-" keyboard shortcuts. Seems inconsistent with e.g. how track view works in the arrange.

also, you cannot use "+" or "-" on the group tracks if you select the track via a keyboard shortcut or if you select the track by clicking on it anywhere other than the top (session view).

as a side note: it would be cool if there was a way to quickly unfold one group while folding all others (kind of like an exculsive solo). suppose you have a set consisting of a bunch of songs, each of which has its own group. this way you could quickly shift your view from one song to the next. a supercool bonus would be having keyboard shortcuts for this.

I would like to add, collapsing a group using the minus key only works if the group channel is selected, would be nice if it was: if anychannel that belongs to the group is selected. Of ten you'll select the group, plus to open, slect a channel, adjust , then you could minus to collapse again, now its 1 extra click.

Just thought I'd say. :)

I agree. Also, it seems like there should be a way to ungroup tracks when you have any track in the group selected and to remove a specific track(s) from a group with a command rather than a mousedrag. but this probably belongs to discussion.......
