MIDI Sustain Pedal Recommendation(s)?

Post by Tempul » Sun Feb 08, 2009 12:59 am

I am new to VSTi synth recording. Done mostly analog/digital/audio in the past; the whole midi thing is new to me.

Can I get any use out of a MIDI sustain pedal hooked up to my KORG Kontrol 49 through ABLETON 7? If so, what pedals would you recommend?

Thanks!
Windows 10
Steinberg UR824
Cubase 10.5
Ableton 10

Go to your local music joint and find the heaviest one you can. The light ones flop around under your feet.

Make sure you ask about polarity issues, if any, with the Korg. Hopefully it is switchable. If not, make sure you get a pedal that is the right polarity (or just get a Korg pedal to be sure).

I have one from Roland. Seems dead sturdy and has a switch to make it continuous. Playing the piano suddenly became fun!

The one from M-Audio is also very nice (well made and cheap). It also has a polarity switch.
