midi assignement manager and control via clips

Post by zuchtfisch » Mon Feb 09, 2009 8:29 pm

Hi,
i' ve seen some posts concerning the midi assignement manager - i am using max to make midi do, what live doesn't support directly. But this sometimes makes assigning controls awkward, like when you use sensor interfaces, where it can be hard to send just one isolated cc. So i' m constantly switching back and forth between the two programs. That's why i'd just love to be able to copy and edit assignements inside the manager, like say, one sensor gives me cc1 on channel 3, the next cc2 - instead of going to max, isolate the sensor, switch to live, choose the parameter to control, tickle the sensor, close the manager, go to max, isolate the next sensor... drag the first assignment to another parameter and then edit the cc number by typing (or don't type if you want the same cc to control several parameters).
For the same reason i'd like to be able to save midi assignements to an effect in a preset, so i can use it wit ha specific sensor setting spontaneously (saving to the template or to a set is restricting).

An other thing came to me while playing with resonator: you can actually use many effects in a quite tonal way, and you can actually assign midi note ranges to the pitch control of resonator to use it melodically. But when i'm playing an instrument and would like the pitch of it to be changed along with the music, wouldn't it be cool to be able to assign a midi clip that's in the set anyway as controller instead of building a dummy clip with automation?

Anyone agree or completely not?
