All In One live performance custom made box

Post by evoid » Mon Feb 09, 2009 1:06 am

This is the making of Clearbox 1.0, the all-in-one computer / audio interface / wireless router / sensor box / lemur energy feeder / wiimote receiver

http://plat-form.info/index.php?option= ... &Itemid=85

It was made to facilitate the mobility of my rig, and to give me some more CPU cycles than a regular laptop can provide

tech specs:

Q6600 G0 @ 3 Ghz

8 Gb memory

250 Mb hi-speed SATA disk

Fireface 400 Firewire Audio Interface

LC-Green Power 500W with mod to feed a Lemur and the router

WL54G Wireless Router with DD-WRT firmware

bluetooth dongle for wiimote control

further expansion planned, with implementation of a sensor box with sensors applied around the casing :)

if you guys have too much trouble watching the video, please tell me so i put one version over Vimeo or something..

excellent job sir.

i've spent the day dreaming about my guitar rig.... trying to build a giant custom unit that actually fits my needs.

right now you're my number one hero and inspiration. I wish knew how to use a hammer. or a drill.

The terms and condidtions for OSX state something along the lines of you not being allowed to run it on a box whihc is not apple-branded. If you really give a shit about that, you could apply a sticker to your custom box!

I was actually visually impressed by the video itself. Even though it spoke to my geekier sides as well.
