you could stay as planned and force him to evict you.
this would take some time effort and money on his part.
he would have to file with the courts, (which costs money)
and then the eviction process starts.
on average it takes at least a month to get everything settled.

at least that's how it is where i live.
it was hard for me to get rid of a destructive renter in the past.

best of luck
Stuff I actually use.
sound card, speakers, mic, MBP, Mighty Mouse, Ableton, Reason, iPad, iPhone,Touchable, Rebirth, & other apps.

once again, that would simply create more stress and friction, forcing a true court eviction would last on my own rental history as well, I don't need to create a problem that follows me around for the foreseeable future.

man, i'm so sorry to hear about all this.
the BEST thing you can do is to watch your back. if this slime mold is that nasty... you need to be protective of your equipment.

a long long time ago... i had a nasty-ass crazy roommate (in MY apartment) who was 6'4", 260 lbs. he scared the crap out of me during our 3rd disagreement - i don't scream and yell with roommates or partners, ever but then i found out this guy really had some screws loose, was wanted for child support, couldn't hold a job, had some really crazy stuff, etc.

anyway, i left town because i knew he'd stalk me. put up my cat in the kitty hotel, my equipment at a friend's house and got ready to leave. when he found out i was leaving (unfortunately i didn't get to leave before he finished work) he got so mad that when he shook and slammed the door all the whole 4-apartment 2-story house rattled. i ran into the neighbor's house across the street then got another one to drop me off at the amtrak. his parents finally extracted him from the house. next weekend i left that town forever.

a lot of info... anyways... i hope things work out for you.

just be careful when people get nasty if you have valuables under the same roof. may he slither below the deepest reaches of black mold on the planet.

best,
liz

I'm not worried about him messing with my stuff, he owns the house, its worth a lot more than my keyboard, and has a lot more room to do damage, also he knows he'd pay dearly for something like that, he's always been a little on the wanna be tough-guy side, but he's never pulled that crap with me as he knows I'd break him in half.

However I am going to take all my gear and drop it at my folks place for a while until I land somewhere decent, this is going to be hell, but I am strangely exited now.

1. scummy 2 faced life long "friend" will now be gone for good, thats really good.

2.Karma's a bitch, and this guy has her pissed off, BADLY.

3. I think the fact that he is doing this to me has kinda spread amongst a few mutual friends and others in our area, I only talked to one friend about it to get it off my chest about how pissed I am, I think his wife is telling everyone what a scummy thing he's doing, gossips on my side for a change.

4. I am going to smoke all his weed, and buy none for the rest of my time here, I will drink all his beer, and buy none, I will eat all his food and buy NONE.

we'll see how things go :D

My realtor told me rents are dropping. And look at the silver lining: Maybe you can actually leave Martinez!

Good luck man.

my grandma lives in Waterside, about 15 min from the square with the soldiers monument and the shopping center, I cant think of its name right now but it has the sailor on one side, an army soldier on the other and an angel of some sort up top, it's really, really awesome, all blacked aged metals.

I'd put chicken bouillon cubes in his shower heads and shit in the toilet tanks.

j/k but it's fun to pretend. ;)

it's a sign, god wants you to leave Martinez.

I am of a like minded feeling, its all about breaking old corrosive ties and running free, how's the city treating you?

I'm heading out there tomorrow to look around at places and for work (hahaha!!!), we'll see what happens, I'm taking my rig with me to play for anybody I meet, we'll see what happens.

there's nothing for rent here, no jobs either. in fact, didn't you hear that the bridges have been down for months? yep, nobody can come and go. nothing to see here, nothing at all. ;) I love it here, but that's after establishing myself for 10-15 years, moving up in apartments and jobs and finally getting off street parking! you have to want to live in the city to put up with it. after you live in SF it's hard to understand why people live elsewhere in the bay area. I never sit in traffic and everything I need is within walking distance.

Did you catch the President, Vice President, and the Governor of Colorado on TV today?

President Obama signed, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, in Denver early this afternoon. Before he signed the bill, Colorado's Gov, and some CEO of a solar company, said some interesting things about Colorado being at the center of a new energy economy.

Anyways...

Just a though....

I know a lot of people jumping into to the RV for extended vacations right now...
