My Beta Is Dying

Post by nebulae » Mon Feb 23, 2009 7:55 pm

We've had him for about a year now. He just lays there at the bottom of his bowl. Doesn't eat much. Not much life left in him. :(

He's such a beautiful red fish.

8O Kind of trippy, I had a beta fish (blue) that died last week. Sadly he committed suicide (he leaped out of his bowl). We blamed the cat for eating him and did not feed it for a day as punishment. My wife found him in our daughters toy box (underneath the bowl in the family room)....

Sorry for your situation. They are cute little things, I almost swear the thing would play with me and let me "pet-it," when I would feed it and change it's water.

Seriously though... we have two goldfish and they're great pets. If my fish died I'd be pretty bummed out. It's surprisingly difficult to take care of goldfish, if you want them to live a full, happy life.

Put a puffer fish in there with him to finish him off. They look all cool and cute like something out of Super Mario Brothers but are vicious to other fish.

I love how goldfish poop...it's like a long string that comes out and stay connected for hours.

wouldn't that actually encourage the cat to eat more small animals?

Arowana FTW.

Only the most bad ass fish ever. One day when I can put a 100 gallon tank in my basement I shall have one.
