yeah, I can see that we are all liking vocoder and the new Operator !

Here is a totally different track from me, it's a kind of Santana inspired latin feel guitar instrumental, with synths provided by Operator and Analog, and features use of vocoder (vocoded some bongos at the end of the track), and especially grooves - the track is a constant tempo, but you really notice the groove changes in this track, and this beta was the first to provide some groove presets so I used some of those from the MPC presets. Also some of the new sounds, being a chimy bell sound from the 'world class library' of all those percussive metal tubing hits etc.

Great work everyone! BUT is no one using the Looper?

I managed to download the beta while in Transylvania a few weeks ago, and this is my fav feature by far. Just didnt bother to save any work

So lets hear some Looper action! :)

I would like to see more Looper action too. I don't have a MIDI footswitch to control the recording on/off which is why I haven't done anything with Looper yet.

That's a small piece of track done on Live8, feature:

Library content (mostly modified)
Operator
Overdrive
MultiBand Dynamics
Frequency Shifter
Sampler (custom sound design)
Tension

this is my latest quick little live 8 ditty. The new Collision instrument and Corpus are featured, vocoder on the filtered piano and various audio loops (mainly FX loops) warped using Complex Pro (Elastique Pro), some as much as 35bpm out and 6 semitones off originally (pro is amazing). Also featured some of the new content - Presets for Analog (bass) and Operator and Sampler from the new content library were used. Limiter used on the master channel. I did use some 3rd party FX on this to test their efficiency in Live 8, of which all went fine, Sonalksis SV315 mkII compressor and SV517 mkII EQ, Audio Damage Reverence plate reverb being used here.

Not quite happy with the structure. The first and last bits are too long.

All the sounds were made with Operator, even the drums. Only Live effects: reverb, overdrive and compression. Maybe a little bit of freq shifting, autofilter and bit reduction here and there, I don't remember. Operator doesn't really need much, except for a bit of space.

The last part is just a big chord into six or so parallel arpeggiators (rack). It's been a while since I did that, but it's a lot of fun.
Suit #1: I mean, have you got any insight as to why a bright boy like this would jeopardize the lives of millions?
Suit #2: No, sir, he says he does this sort of thing for fun.

Pretty cool. I agree about the first and last bits (just a bit of pruning, editing, take it down by a few bars either way) and it's classic !

Great use of Operator. It could always do a lot, but now more than ever in Live 8 it's becoming a standard tool of mine, instead of being a bit part player.

Here's a lil idea incorporating limiter, multiband dynamics (lots of), freq shifter and overdrive on the main guitar part.

Nomsi-Jelly

Want to do some more with the library content, latin drums, collision etc.

The Multiband compressor and the overdrive are smart bits of kit though...

Pianoissimo - a kind of 'Keep On Movin'' (Soul II Soul) / Massive Attack inspired piano led trip hop track done in Live 8, with some samples of Indian music and some funky guitar riffs. Featuring the new sampled piano sound and all other synth sounds are from Live's library, including acoustic bass, strings ensemble and pizzicato and more, drum racks, all live FX used (EQ8, Compressor, Limiter, Multiband Dynamics, Simple Delay, even Reverb). Sliced an audio loop to MIDI drumrack and constructed a couple of breakbeats. Added percussion which is all from the drum racks library.

Nice one, leedsquietman!

Altough imho it could do without the piano.
