Good Bass VST for MAC?

Post by stefanstorm » Fri Mar 06, 2009 12:38 pm

Hey, any suggestions for good VSTs that sports some fat bass sounds?
I'm on a mac (universal binary), so no PC-based suggestions please!

Thanks a million, what would I do without this forum!?

ABLETON INSTRUMENTS!
If you can't do it with the Abe instruments, you'll probably be disappointed when you try and program on another VST. Unless of course you're strolling through presets. Are you asking, "What synth has the best bass presets?"

but yeah if you TOTALLY can't do it within Ableton, I recommend NI's Massive. That's probably my goto third party plug when I need a bass sound.

You can make a decent bass noise with pretty much any plugin if you know what you're doing. My trick is to add a triangle or sine wave a few octaves down.
I like Automat.

NI Pro-53 or Massive. Novation BassStation is straightforward and easy to use too, and usually comes free with most Novation hardware.

I dig Albino 3, it's great if you want to layer several presets (most of which are excellent in their own right.
