Vocoder

Post by blingstef » Sun Mar 08, 2009 7:43 pm

I read in the Live's manual that I can achieve the vocoder effect with the resonnator plugs. Can you help me with that?

Hi,

The manual says a vocoder-like effect, not a vocoder effect. Try putting some vocals through the resonator with some of the presets (Paris, if I remember correctly), and with some tweaking you can get a vocoder-like effect.

If you want a real vocoder, I also had fun with the TAL vocoder mentioned above. Or wait for Live 8...

Have you had good results from those mda plugins? i always find the vocoder and talk box are hard to use and sound terrible.

I've had no issues with the mda vocoders
pretty easy to use
set up one channel panned right as voice
set up other channel panned right as source
send them both to an audio channel with vocoder plugin in on it and bam

two tracks featuring the mda vocoder

I'm new to all this, so forgive me if I sound silly :P

I downloaded the TAL vocoder, but with my microphone, it didn't really produce a good old school sounding "robot voice."

I'll mess with it again, but what settings are you using?

I'm gonna grab the MDA vocoder now and see how I do with that in a few.

Peace
