Just wanna chime in and say that jacobian is NOT an asshole on the net or in 'real' life. I know him personally. Don't judge a person by the selling price of their monome.

It's a compliment. It usually takes many posts on here to be recognized as a certified asshole. He did this in record time.

Not to mention anybody that either owns or has owned a monome is some degree of asshole. It comes with the box.

lol. I just laughed so hard I nearly pissed myself.

Yah. Monome owners are the Prius drivers of the electronic music world. I drive a Prius, so I know. Well. Actually. I don't know any Monome owners, but I can just imagine they are as smug as I am.

These Monome threads are always amusing. I just cannot get my panties in a bunch over this one. Try as I might to muster some finger pointing moral high ground, I cannot. I'm far more appalled that someone would actually pay anywhere close to $2500 for a 256.

I think they're cool, but not $2500 cool. 8O

kind of hope nobody buys it, but it would be nice to pay off the debt created by buying it...

HAHAHAHAHAHA ever heard of a Lemur? It costs about $650 less than this dipshit's Monome and can be his button-box and so much more. What a cunt.

These Monome threads are always amusing. I'm surprised someone would actually pay anywhere close to $2500 for a box of light up buttons.

I think they're cool, about $25 cool.

I wouldn't judge him by the price of his Monome. I'll judge him by this:
jacobian wrote:@all else; the buy it now price is the price i paid. your all just wasting your internet breath. go make music.
With a sales technique like that, I am REALLY persuaded to look at his listing

Coming onto a forum and implying the members are wasting their time? That qualifies as being an asshole on the net, in my view.

The monome community would NEVER condone this.

Edit: Ah f*ck it - it's not even worth explaining how wrong this is. Greed rules the world - and that includes 'purchases' as well.

Desire - catch it!

god, cant you calm down?
a monome is a piece of gear too, when anyone had his/her moral standards right in here he/she would be like: "jeez, for that money i build a 256 RGB arduinome like julienb did lately."

I support Jacobian in his attempt to sell his monome. I find his analysis of forum inhabitants to be insightful and accurate. He/she even picked a cool handle. Go Jacobian!

Of course, I can't imagine buying a 256 button midi controller.

I don't understand the issue...
if you don't like the price don't f'n bid...
it's all supply and demand...
you don't expect to buy a TB303 for the price it retailed at the time...

if the market is willing to pay... then the price is right...
it's how it is and how it has always been..
