iTunes 8.1 drag and drop to Live?
So I updated to iTunes 8.1 tonight, and I'm now unable to drag and drop tunes into Ableton Live (7.0.14). Could someone else give it a shot?
I'll cry if this is a new itunes "feature". Apple is earning place on my shitlist again.

So, who do we write an angry letter to first? Apple, for killing of a feature they probably thought was a bug, or Ableton, for not introducing a feature because they think it's a bug?
For Pete sake, maybe instead of buying the APC40 and Live 8 I'll use the money and get a VCI-100 and Traktor Pro and be done with it.

Well, that's a bit of a misstatement. Yes, I just tested it with the beta, and it does work. But it does not work with Live 7, which I'm guessing 99.X% are going to actually use to perform with. And now I can't drag crap into my set.shai wrote:still working here! (L8 beta)
Odd that it works with the 8 beta and not 7. Perhaps somebody here knows why.

perhaps it's a known change with a reason apple did anounced to developers and ableton implemented it in L8 so it 'stays the same' just guessing...sparklepuff wrote:Well, that's a bit of a misstatement. No one uses the File Browser attached directly to the iTunes Library? Let's not be that lazy guys...
Re: iTunes 8.1 drag and drop to Live?
hmm.. you know i actually do. its the easiest way to preview tracks. especially as Live's browser offers a very poor queing of audio files from its own library.Marx wrote:No one uses the File Browser attached directly to the iTunes Library? Let's not be that lazy guys...
i used to make a "record bag". just a folder with all the track i might like to play.. but everything is in such a nice order in my itunes... so i didnt see any reason to keep on doing it.
Re: iTunes 8.1 drag and drop to Live?
With 8.02 it is possible to drag audio to live.
Get it here: http://support.apple.com/downloads/iTunes_8_0_2_for_Mac

Re: iTunes 8.1 drag and drop to Live?
Huh? I hope you're not talking about Live's browser directed to your itunes library. Too hard to search for anything beyond artist and too easy to click a track and Live throws it in a track and starts warping even if it might not be what you want.Marx wrote:No one uses the File Browser attached directly to the iTunes Library? And it's easier in a live situation to be jumping back and forth between program windows?beats me wrote:Huh? I hope you're not talking about Live's browser directed to your itunes library. Re: iTunes 8.1 drag and drop to Live?
So, lemme get this straight:
iTunes 8.1 + Live 8 Beta = Drag and drop from itunes
iTunes 8.1 + Live 7.0.14 = No drag and drop from itunes
Correct? WTF

iTunes 8.1 + Live 7.0.14 = No drag and drop from itunes
