When I trigger clips, the whole scene plays

I'm a completely new user, so please excuse is this is a stupid question. I've been messing around with Live 404, Mac OSX, G4- whenever I trigger a clip using my keyboard, the whole scene plays and I can't isolate playback on the individual clip without soloing it. I've tried keymapping and it doesn't seem to matter. Whenever I play a clip, all instruments in the scene play.

Is this just something I have to work around, or is there something I'm not doing/getting?

u have to stop all clips first.. on the right hand side in session view is the letter "s" click that and all the clips stop, then when u retrigger a clip only that one will play.
