So in case someone missed it, apparently iTunes 8.1 + Live 8 Beta means you can still drag and drop, but NOT iTunes 8.1 and Live 7.0.14.

Is this a problem for both Mac and PC? I'm on a Mac, but I don't think I've heard anyone say specifically that they were on a PC.

I have a workaround for those on mac. You need to have Automator on your computer (which is installed by default on my mbp).
You need to download a little programm which I mad with Automator.
By double clicking it you have an iTunes window where you can then drag & drop your files.
You can download the programm under http://sites.google.com/site/littleituneshelp/itoones.

Hope this helps

I have automator running. When I double click your .app for iTooons.. it doesn't open any 2nd window. I am using OX 4.11 and Live 6.

is there something I should be aware of?

I don't know how it is with osx 4.11, but you don't have to open automator (or iTunes) first. Just double click iToones, there should open a window. (and you have unzipped the file?, just to be sure)

Hope it works that way.

I'm using Live 6.0.10, and OS 10.5.6 (with iTunes 8.1), and iToones works great. Maybe the problem is that you need Leopard.

i have the feeling that's it.

I am not familiar with automator, anyone cares to provide a 10.4.x version of iToones?

Higlhly appreciated, though!

Thanks

I installed the latest iTunes update that was released today (April 6, 2009), and with Live 7.0.15 drag and drop is working again.

Can anyone confirm for other versions?

Live 7.0.15 and iTunes 8.1.0 (Windows) drag and drop works but I'm downlaoding iTunes 8.1.1 as I type this....... I'll update this post in a while as it's a 79MB download. (I don't like iTunes, it's such a terrible application on the windows platform!!)

Yeah, need confirmaion. I haven't updated since this complaint was mentioned and luckily I read about this before I updated.

Looks to me like the problem has been fixed in iTunes 8.1.1. I just installed that version, and it made the problem go away. I had the problem with 8.1. I'm using Live 6.0.10 and OS 10.5.6.

I have a feeling this problem was Mac only. And maybe not even all Macs (see the comment above at Mar 14, 2009 11:48 pm).

So I think iToones is no longer needed, but it was quite useful to me on several occasions. Saved me a bunch of time. So misal, thanks very much for creating it.
