[awi] Live8 won't open after installation

Post by dumafuji » Fri Mar 20, 2009 7:56 pm

Greets: I read through all nine pages of bug reports. If I missed this, my apologies.

neither b21 and b22 will open on my vista machine. "Can't load Module,'dehaupt DH_FloatSplitter 2.0+' is the first of many, many error messages. Must use Task Manager to shut down. It just hangs.

that module is a module for/from the program SynthEdit, it's a module from a guy called Dave haupt.

VST made with synth edit unpack themselves into folders in your VST folder.

You have a VST which was made by synthedit and was moved, or has been altered in some way and so the VST which was made by synthedit has somehow lost track of its components.

this is your problem.

find that synth , delete it. Restart Live.

thank you, kind sir. it seems you are right. it also seems, if the vst is part of your template file, you be pretty screwed. no longer getting the error when I clean out my vst folder of synthedit stuff. but even when I change the template file, live8 gives me a "serious error" and shuts down immediately.

if you know where you preferences file is, go to it, make a copy of it somewhere else (in case ableton ask you to send it to them for a de-bug)

now delete the original preferences file.

Live should start normally.
