[amo] reverb affects sound in track even if switched off

Post by buzby » Sun Mar 22, 2009 9:04 pm

hi

Today I added reverb preset Ballad on a track - it affects the start of a break down in the track and then half way through the breakdown, the device is switched off via automation envelopes in the arrangement view, as are the dry/wet and delay on the reverb.

However when playback comes back into the main part of the track the sound in track is affected.

If i start playing the track at a point after the reverb was activated and switched off in the automation envelopes then the sound stays as it was before the reverb was added to the device chain.

Removing the reverb from the device chain returns the track to normal

Is the red button with the horizontal lines to the right of the OVR button visible? Sometimes the session view gets out of sync with the arrangement view. You might already know that and therefore my suggestion is useless, but I have been using Live for at least a couple of years and that still throws me. Press the red button to return to the arrangement. Sorry if this was useless to you.

Edit: I see your post count and join date and realize that you almost assuredly know of what I am talking about.

hi man

thanks for the reply - the red button is pressed

something that i didnt mention was that the way that the rest of the track is affected is not with a reverb sound but it sounds like i have done a really bad eq on it

like i said, the problem goes when i remove the reverb from the track and i ve checked all the other automation lanes on the track

Hello,

Is it possible for you to upload a simple set that demonstrates the problem, and send a link to beta@ableton.com, with a reference to this thread?

Hi,

I thought I sent you the answer by email but here it is: yes please, send a self contained set, please try to reduce it to 1 track only, make it as small as possible to observe the problem.

Very good. Bugs that get fixed by themselves ;)
Seriously, it's possible that your problem was a side-effect of something else. I moved the thread. If you get the problem again, send me the set.
