[amo] 22&23 -Clips slots in session view replace automation
Hi there,
This is an odd bug thats recently popped up, when I click the record button on a clip slot in arrange page, the automation I have set up on the track is overuled.
Basically, if I have any FX with automation created in Arrangement view, then clicking the record slot button makes live forget this automation.
Hope Ive made this simple enough!
Thanks,
Dan

Hi,
Just to be sure: when you say "slot", you're note talking about Session view clips, are you? Here is what I understand:
- You have some automation written in Arrangement view.
-> Are there clips where you see the automation over-written?
- The transport is running.
- You press some record button.
-> Is it the global Arm button in the transport? Is it the record arm button on the track?
I need to know more in details what you exactly do.

Amaury

Re: [amo] 22&23 -Clips slots in session view replace automation
Hi,
I am talking about session view clips. There is automation written in arrangement view, automation of a plug-in or speaker on/off, anything!
The transport is running, and all the automation is running fine until a session view clip is recorded on the track that has automation written on it.
As soon as the clip record slot is recording then the automation is forgotten. It is 'greyed-out' in arrange page, if you know what I mean.
Just to clarify, it is not the Arm button or the transport record button, it is the individual slots on tracks in session view!
Thanks,
Dan
ps. i mailed a bug report last night

Hi,
So,
- You have automation in Arrangement.
- You launch a clip in Session view, or record a clip in Session view, but without the global record button ON in the transport.
- Then the Automation doesn't play back.
But the automation is not erased, right? And you can see the red "return to Arrangement" button lit in the transport, and if you click it, the automation is back?
If so, I guess it's the same in Live 7, isn't it?

Amaury

Close!
Youre right except the global transport record is NOT on....
You can see the return to arrangement button lit though. And clicking it does return the automation, but of course also stops the recorded clip from playing...

Hi, yes, sorry, that's what I meant for the Global Record, just forgot a "not" word.daniel_grieff wrote:Close!

Well, that is no bug, and is the same in Live 7 and beyond: it's either Session playback or Arranger playback, including automation.
