[4870] Small skip when using Complex Pro warp mode

Post by sqook » Sun Feb 22, 2009 12:33 am

I notice that for some clips, there is a slight stutter when Live hits the edge of the loop. The source file in this case is an mp3, but I don't think that should make much of a difference. The loop itself is cut cleanly, and I even made sure that the loop points hit zero crossings.

With "pro" warp mode -- this is a 2 bar loop, which you can the skip occur twice

Same loop in "re-pitch" mode

I can send a liveset if necessary.

Edit: Ok, it also happens with aif/wav source files.

Hi,

Can you please try again with beta 17. We've fixed some bug that may have solved this issue.

I just tried out complex pro for the first time and experience the same behaviour, even more audible in my case.
It's not only the warped clip that's affected, there's an audio glitch when the clips in the scene loop, even when the warped clip's track is muted.
Works fine with all other warp modes. CPU consumption is moderate, about 40% with complex pro on the clip, 28% without it.

I'm on b23.

I can mail you the set if that's of any help.

are y'all able to fix the issue by changing the buffer size? i have similar problems with complex pro...glitches even when the CPU meter is only at 40% and the disk overload indicator doesn't come on. increasing the buffer above 1500 samples or so "fixed" it. its a bummer though, because i usually get by with the buffer around 128/256.

Sorry for the late reply on this one -- yes, as of RC2, this behavior doesn't seem to occur anymore. Thanks.
