It's just you, don't worry. The best thing about the 80's is that they're over

Yeah, they were. But you know what I mean. I think every generation has a special connection to the music they listened to "growing up". I guess that means tweens- teen years. And then every generation inevitably starts bitching about how music was so much better back in "their day" I just don't want to ever get like that. Theres an amazing amount of music coming out these days. Most of it underground. Its just all the mainstream stuff is all such crap now.

I am a Melbourne Lad too, but I live in Europe these days ( I come back to Oz once a year to remember what a great place it is). Anyway, the 80s was crap in my opinion. Though I did enjoy fantasising about Kate Bush and Blondie.
Cold Chisel were a good Aussie band at the time!! Iva Davies From Flowers also made some decent stuff. Most of the 80s though was pseudo pretentious rubbish and crap fashion!! Shoulder pads on jackets and puffy hairdos. YUK!!!!! Though guitar playing broke new ground (then). Guys like Joe Satriani and Steve Vai were breaking into the music scene. So that was a good thing.
