Collaborating with Pro Tools user

Post by robojam » Fri Dec 14, 2007 6:14 pm

I am going to collaborate with a friend who uses Pro Tools, but having two different DAWs, it's going to be difficult.

Does anyone know of a way that I can convert Live projects to PT projects and a way for him to convert PT projects to Live?

exporting all tracks, basically. that's how i've been doing it to get things to pro tools for surround mixing. then it's just to bounce the tracks individually from pro tools. i don't think there's any other stable way of doing it.
Yup...

I'm in this exact same boat right now. He's not able to get PT to recognize it. My buddy mentioned something about bit rates. Does that make a difference. I'm using Live 7. I exported as a wav at 32 bit. Does the aif/wav thing make a difference. We're both on macs?

Convert your 32bit files to 24bit.

You can drag and drop straight into PT,
creates tracks automaticly.

PT will split the trx into L/R as it doesn't
support interleaved files.

It should all be a piece of cake.

Thanks man. I bet that's it. Will pass it along to my drummer. :D
