Buy Notebook Question : Sony VAIO VGN-NS21SZ/S 15.4"

Hey Folks!

I wanna buy a notebook with firewire for my live pa. but i`m not shure.

I run Live normally on a 2,6Ghz Dual Core with 2 GB DDR2 Ram on XP.
But 2,6 Ghz Dual Core Notebook ( with 4GB DDR2 Ram ) is to expensive i think

I`m comfortable with a 2,4 Ghz Dual Core Laptop,the better cache will balancing the missing 0,2 Ghz ?and i wanna double my RAM.

What do you think about the Sony VAIO VGN-NS21SZ/S ?

a friend of mine has one of these(a bit older) for production & live, but I think his HD runs only on 4200rpm, so be sure that there´s a 5400rpm inside

If your going to be running any 32 bit software like XP which you mention or some versions of Visa then there is no point having anything more than 3 gigs of Ram as the operating system wont make use of anymore.

i bought it and like it.It`s a 5400rpm harddrive.

Ableton,battery and kontakt workin propper on vista,now i try to clean the vista-sevices
Möbius looper seems to work too,i have to test it.

i think its no good idea to work live with a strange installed win XP.
The only chance to put XP on this VAIO is to change the XP CD drivers with nLite software to the vaio drivers.tricky and unstable i suppose.

what do you mean by clean vista services?

i mean the backround services whitch i don`t need.there are a lot services on XP and Vista in backround.check the Taskmanager,Processes.

So i dont need internet and all the little programms in backround when i play live for example.

mcproxy.exe

in XP i knew what i can turn of,vista is different.

so,anyone knows about users/services?dont wanna create and delete user accounts only for testing this...

Hi, First post here.
Am currently trying to choose between a Vaio NW and CW laptop. The CW is more costly but has a 14 inch screen, a bit more ram and discrete graphics which looks fairly decent. Has anyone used one?

Is the internal soundcard ok in the nw? I plan to use it without an external one some of the time.
