Bedroom Orchestra

Post by re.mark » Mon May 25, 2009 7:44 pm

Ok, so watching some of 'Elizabeth: The Golden Years' whilst eating my tea, I got inspired by some of the music in the soundtrack. I ran upstairs opened Live and decided to try my hand at orchestrating something - something ive not done before. Chords spinning in my head I got it down, whilst experimenting different tecnhiques.

2hours later this emerges.

Its not complete, and not intended to be, its merely an expierment, but MY GOD Lives EICII can sound good!!
what you think??

Oh my lord. That is quite amazing.

I've only been using ableton for 10 days but if I ever produce anything half as good as that I'll be happy.

Great work.

It's always nice to hear something different! As an old fan of Final Fantasy, that music really brought me back to my SNES days. Those snare rolls sounded pretty nice, too!

I brought Live7 last July, this is the only DAW ive used seriously. Ive touched lightly with lite versions of other stuff but not done a whole track. So I think it says alot for Live, for me to be able to produce something of this calibre within a year of getting the software - and without any tuition (without blowing my own trumpet haha ;) ).

Thanks I must admit i cheated slightly with the percussion, as I used Battery3 for that. Sorry for shattering your dreams. :( lol

I meant "hear" in that last message. Not sure how can "heat" music. :D

I also forgot to mention in my last post that this sentence brought a smile to my face. EICII sounds an awful lot like the Japanese word for sex.

Wow, that is a really nice sound you have going. I love how the chorus pulls through at the end, and yes those snare rolls are sex.

Edit: I was craving a huge Timpani (sp) hit though about every other measure, I don't know why, thats just what I feel the track was missing. Still, excellent work.
