why does reason 4 sound so much better than live 7?

Post by leighbeater » Mon Jun 01, 2009 4:09 am

why does the work i do in reason 4 sound so much better to me than in live 7?

for both i dont use no 3rd party plug ins for my mixes ( i know you cant use 3rd party plug ins in reason)

Reason sounds crisp and clean and has plenty of punch and volume, live 7 sounds muddy and lacks volume

As its been said before. Its personal preference with software. Some are better than others with one bit... but in the end you can make anything with anything.

because you're more experienced with reason.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

Because the code used to make Reason was derived from studying fluffy kittens

But say for instance, constant crashing in Live 8 was making your life a living hell, Reason 4 would be the way to go right :? ?

Cool. Use what ever keeps you creative and inspired. At the end of the day it is the music you create, not the technology you used. As far as Live goes, don't "throw the baby out with the bath water".......Take an inventory of your audio engineering understanding and skills, and know that should you ever need to, you have access to a tremendously creative application.

Live, Reason, Moog sub phatty, Moog sub 37, Ozone 6, guitars, Pedals, proper ergonomic sitting posture, french pressed coffee with a pinch of cardamon.

After you realise what you have, you'll be back.

It may take a little time, but it will happen.

Good luck.

we are constantly being urged to expand our toolkit...I have been using PT, Live and Reason...now Record (soon) and for abit now,... a great little find Tracktion 3 (although this one may be dying..unsupported..in ther hallows of what could have been..it's still freaking great - the theme to what I'm saying is ...just learn and play as m8uch as you can...on everything

I choose different hammers for different reasons...and yes..my reasons will be different than yours...I tend to start a tune in Reason or Tracktion or Live...but always seem to finish the tune in PT...don't know why...it's just what I do...you don't have to..

my point ...use and learn everything that will allow your thought process to create with as little thought as possible...simply use these programs as if you are a native speaker in their language..and then express - I think that's why I play - to express...I don't care what hammer gets me there ...as long as I arrive swinging

thoughts?
Cheers
